Welcome to our Transformational Business Success Story where I interview one of our very successful clients, Karmela Goja. Karmela spent the last 10 years working as a successful fabrics and production manager for both Country Road and Brown Sugar. With this invaluable experience, she started her own label “goja” pronounced “goya” in 2010.
The collection features classic styles with elegance using high end fabrics, a sophisticated colour palette; comfort and longevity are all important features. Her updated website, including her spring/summer 2013 collection, will be available soon.
How was life prior to your transformation?
Prior to my transformation I was living most of my days with the anxiety and pressures of work and obligations, being comfortable but not really satisfied. Dreaming of what life would feel like if I could do what I loved everyday… What were the biggest obstacles you needed to overcome to pursue your new business?
The three biggest obstacles were FEAR of failure, the voice of self-doubt and constant excuses I didn’t have enough time or money. You have made significant changes Karmela, can you tell us about your transformation.
The transformation has helped me become focused, find balance, know my purpose in life, create good habits, have a positive attitude, face my fears, develop a support network, keep growing and set new challenges, be inspired by others, and most importantly celebrate my success and enjoy the journey of life… To what extent has working with Qt helped you to follow your passion and start your new business about 2 years ago?
Qt has helped me to change myself from feeling unsatisfied to believing and understanding anything is possible if you have the correct techniques and open mind. What has been the biggest change for you?
I no longer live a life of boredom unaware of life’s many opportunities but have reclaimed a positive lifestyle never feeling frustrated where I can’t quite explain why…I now transform my negative emotions / energy into positive outcomes…”
Having now made this change, what do you now enjoy most about business and life?
In business, I can happily say when you love what you do it’s not work, and for life, I am aware and in touch with my emotions. I can feel life and it’s no longer a numbing experience…
What tips would you give to others wanting to follow their passion and start a new business?
Stop making excuses and start now…
How would you sum up your transformation?
Finally, I’ve connected with my true talent and I’m fulfilling my creative potential but honestly, for me it’s an ongoing process that gets better with time.
