Transformational Success Story!
Welcome to our Transformational Success Story where I personally interview two of our very successful clients, mother and son, Fay and Ben. Based in a small country town in South Australia, Fay is a farmer and grazier, loves her garden and is a quilt artist. At 25, Ben runs a successful networking organization in Melbourne that assists businesses to share referrals, knowledge and access vital business connections. About a year ago, Fay and Ben lost their best mate, Steele. Steele was Fay’s husband and Ben’s father.
How was your life prior to your transformation?
Fay: Life was smooth until 12 months ago. Then there was total upheaval – my other son’s (Daniel’s) partner left him and took their daughter and my husband Steele was diagnosed with a brain tumour and died 3 weeks later. I was pushing myself to the limit to cope mentally, dealing with 3 lawyers on 3 different issues. I was also dealing with Steele’s mother and making sure she was OK and supporting my sons. I was on the backburner.
Ben: A year ago my father passed away at the age of 52. This was a highly stressful time for myself and the family and to deal with it I found myself going into high levels of denial to help keep myself focused and the business running. An overwhelming sense of despair, lack of clarity and confusion suddenly hit me and I was left feeling completely depleted with nothing left to give anyone, including myself. I found myself feeling depressed, unfocused and highly unmotivated due to the passing of my father.
You have made some significant changes in your life Fay, can you tell us about your transformation journey.
Fay: Ben recommended me to go to Qt. He didn’t think I would have an open mind because I am 53 years of age. I made a pact with my family and friends that I would do whatever it takes to be a better person. I had no qualms about going to Vesna – I heard lots of lovely things and good results. I now allow myself to come first without feeling guilty about doing it. I go away for 2 days every fortnight. I am calmer within myself and I think more clearly. I rarely swear now because I don’t feel frustrated. I am so much more comfortable and patient in dealing with other people. I have an inner strength. I still feel sad at times which is normal in this situation. I had put off my grieving because I was so concerned with everything and everyone else. I realise and appreciate how lucky I have been and am with all these wonderful people in my life.
To what extent has working with Qt helped you to overcome these challenges and take your business and life to the next level?
Ben: I can’t express how appreciative I am of Qt’s and Vesna’s assistance. I’ve been able to grieve in a way that is not only healthy but allows me to keep moving forward in my life. Even better yet, I felt 100% better after the first session, which helped me to get the momentum up to keep moving forward. My clarity on where I’m going has returned and I have my focus and passion back to reach those goals with the energy and emotional resources I need from within.
Fay, what changes have others noticed about you?
Fay: When I came back to SA from my first couple of sessions with Qt people said “What have you been doing with yourself? Whatever you are doing, keep doing it. You look great.” They have told me that I am inspirational to other people and not wallowing in self pity. In a small country town it has a ripple effect – people notice.
What tips would you give to others experiencing grief and loss?
Ben: Go to Qt!!!!!! It is the best thing you could ever do to help you heal from such a traumatic experience.
Fay: It is a very hard journey losing a loved one. Definitely seek some help and go to Vesna. Getting help is not about making you forget your loved one – it is about helping you so you can go forward with different feelings.
How would you sum up your transformation?
Fay: Absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much.
Ben: Nothing short of amazing!!!
