Transformational Client Success Story

Welcome to our Transformational Client Success Story where I personally interview one of our very successful clients, Emily. Emily is married to a marvelous man, has worked in her current job for 7 years. Before that she had 18 months prioritising her health as she dealt successfully with breast cancer. She had a battle with depression approx. 28 years ago after a buried memory of childhood sexual assault surfaced. She was hospitalised twice within 4 months for several weeks and clawed her way back to wanting to live. Emily has had days/weeks/months since then where she wobbled but worked on herself and managed to somehow stay upright and operate as a functioning adult to various degrees. She has never lost her sense of humour.
You have had a huge transformation recently, please tell us about it.
For a majority of 2024 I recognised a lot of concerning thoughts were taking over and influencing all parts of my life, especially at work. I lead a team of high-performing consultants and admin staff and 100% believed I had nothing to offer them, couldn’t do my job, needed to resign, felt completely out of control, wasn’t sleeping well, waking up exhausted, stopped caring about myself and totally felt like I was spiralling into what could only be a disastrous crash into the ground. A neighbour I had just befriended saw that something wasn’t right and kindly listened and then recommended Vesna if I felt up to it…. I knew instantly I was ready to grab that lifeline with both hands.
I was clear on the amount of work I was committing to before/during/after each session and jumped fully in (I knew in every part of my body I could trust Vesna, take on board all her years of expertise, and come out of this well). That ended up being an under-statement….I am the best I’ve ever been.
What were the biggest challenges you needed to overcome to get to where you are now?
I’ve looked back over some of my notes from last year to authentically call these out as they were happening rather than try to recall them and miss some of the true sentiment…so straight from my journal: ”one part of me feels like it’s always on and full of self-hatred and another part is trying to talk me back down – this back and forth is exhausting” “Just trying to get through each day” “vision of snake wrapping around my neck” “I’m in a constant state of flux, discombobulation and hyper-awareness” “could tell you 100 things I’m no good at and would struggle to come up with one thing I’m good at – unless it’s putting myself down!” “it feels like a year of too many things falling down…I feel useless, worthless, hopeless.”
To what extent has working with Qt helped you to transform your self-talk, confidence, relationships and life?
By starting at what I want to be, who I want to be and what I want to think about myself, Vesna then (with so many tools and techniques from her vast toolbox) guided me towards that version of myself…..together and trustingly, we worked diligently on removing the thoughts and beliefs that absolutely do not serve me. Then we worked on filling me up with nurturing, empowering, energising, future-focused beliefs and thoughts…. I’m heading towards a wonderful me and it’s pretty glorious.
How has transforming your emotions and thinking impacted on your success?
The morning after one of my sessions where we had cleared out the belief “I am not worthy of love” I was driving to work and I turned my radio off and blurted out “I love myself” – it was not a conscious action and words but something that bubbled up and out…it stunned me and I smiled all the way to work and couldn’t help telling close colleagues of this mighty and quite instantaneous turn around.
This is just one example but there is such a self-assured confidence in me now and every interaction, every thought is underpinned by trust in myself and what I’m capable of, stating my perspective tactfully but honestly a lot more often. I have realised I am ready for a new work environment and to bring my skills and know-how (that I firmly adore and acknowledge now) to a new role and organisation. And that fills me with excitement which is in stark contrast to last year when I thought I was no good to anyone.
What has been the biggest change for you?
I feel like I have shed so much ‘old stuff’ – the events of old are no longer dictating my present and future but reinforce how strong I am, how they’ve provided me with the ability to be highly compassionate and inclusive. There is calm positivity and an absence of debilitating internal workings. It now feels like my system is aligned and working well to support me in achieving the outcomes I desire.
How would you sum up your transformation?
An amazing practitioner and lots of collaborative hard work has paid off. I deserve the rest of my life being as good as it will now be – I’m more resilient, grateful and prepared. Thank you immensely, Vesna.
